Managing Director
Farouk O. Newland is the Managing Director and Co-Partner of Rakel Investment & General Services and a multidisciplinary professional with experience across economics, banking, disaster management, environmental strategy, procurement, mining and agriculture. With an academic background in economics and early professional experience in banking, he developed a strong foundation in financial management, investment planning and risk analysis.
His expertise extends to disaster risk reduction, preparedness, mitigation and recovery, alongside environmental management, sustainable resource use and strategic procurement. He has also contributed to the mining and agriculture sectors, supporting responsible resource management and agricultural productivity. As Managing Director, he provides strategic leadership for Rakel's operations, partnerships and sustainable growth initiatives.
